WELCOME TO THE RFH STATE-OF-ART STEAM LAB
The Rumson Fair Haven Education Foundation’s newest and most significant funding project for our high school is a state-of-the-art computer science classroom that will empower RFH students with dynamic 21st century college-ready courses and instruction that will be permanently added to the RFH curriculum starting this fall including: Intro to Computer Science, AP Computer Science, and AP Computer Science Principles. These classes will be offered for a total of eight class periods each week /day and will mimic a college-level environment to increase the academic rigor for hundreds of RFH students year over year. In addition, the STEAM LAB will be available to academic clubs to hold before and after school club meetings.
WHEN & WHERE
The STEAM LAB will be located in Room 106, which is situated in an area of the school slated to become a future “Tech Hub” for RFH students.
For the 2020-2021 school year, the STEAM Lab will house four class sections of Computer Science and two sections AP Computer Science allowing the school to increase these course offerings from just 24 students prior to the STEAM Lab to over 100!
The Foundation is aiming to raise funds to build upon the success of the STEAM Lab for our students by supporting the District's developing strategic plan to build out a Tech Hub that will offer state of the art learning spaces to support an interdiciplinary curriculum in graphic design, engineering, and other STEAM based courses.
